Why Do The Shirts Have The Movie Logo or Title On Them?

We get this question quite often, and to be honest we agree with the sentiment.  There's no reason a "Camp Crystal Lake" shirt needs the Friday the 13th Logo.  The problem is the movie studios want it on there, and since our goal is to sell officially licensed merchandise when it is available, we have to live with that.

Your next question might be why would the studios do this?  It has to do with intellectual property protection and advertising.  Without the logo it is impossible to distinguish a bootleg shirt from an official shirt (and we get that this sometimes makes the bootleg shirt more desirable).  Also the studios look at merchandise as additional publicity and advertising for their main moneymaker, which is the actual movies and shows that they produce. Disney is a notable exception here because they are so good at consumer products that the movies and shows they produce are also ads for the merchandise.
